Medical Biology Lab 17: Karyotypes: Diagnosing Chromosome Disorders - Durable
Karyotypes: Diagnosing Chromosome Disorders
- In part A, students role-play as part of the genetic counseling team for HASPI Genetic Horizons, Inc. Expecting parents have chosen to have their unborn children tested for genetic abnormalities. Students will be responsible for determining if any chromosome abnormalities are present. Using the provided patient chromosomes, they will create a human karyotype and determine whether the patient has a chromosomal mutation.
- In part B, students perform an inquiry survey of chosen human traits and determine how the phenotypes for each trait interact from their results.
